CompareMerge App Reviews

This app does what it says it does. It has all the basic features youd expect in a text file comparison application. However, I found the interface somewhat confusing and had to tinker with it to understand how it works. Maybe there is documentation somewhere, but I didnt see it. The picture comparison feature was recently added, but Im not sure exactyl what problem it is meant to solve. You can get a command line wrapper for the tool which I like because that way I can use this app as a file compare plug-in got goodsync. For now this app gets the job done, but with a few more iterations, it could reall shine and be more enjoyable to use.

This little app is useful for easily maintaining content between two folders. At $10, it’s a little pricey - especially to provide functionality that should exist as a part of OSX - but it works reliably. Not a pretty or especially intuitive interface. Just a bare, utilitarian app. Works well.

CompareMerge is great - coming from the windows world, I was looking for something similar to windiff - compare merge fits the bill at a reasonable cost. When you consider that one of the competitors to comparemerge is $70, I think CompareMerge does a great job at $10. Note that my expectations are to compare text files, like youd use for programming websites, and compare merge does a great job there, comparing whole folder stuctures and letting you drill down into individual files. Great job all around!

Very useful app

I am a web programmer and Compare Merge is far from my most used application, but when it’s needed it does exactly as required. Great app!

Huge problem, I’ve paid for this application, and yet nearly every time I start the app, it forces me through one of two dialogs, no way to turn them off: “Rate this app” and “Convert to no-sandbox version”. This is an absolutely arrogant slap at the paying customer, no excuse for this application behavior.
